About Stewart Ginn
Stewart Ginn Jr., a financial investments expert from San Diego, CA, comes from a rich background in hospitality management. Originally from Tasmania, Australia, Stewart arrived in the U.S. on a golf scholarship. This is quite an accomplishment, given the limited number of golf scholarships available; Ginn would have regularly scored in the 70s. By the time Stewart graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Business, he was well acclimated to his new country. He had met and played with some big-name golfers, including Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus.
Ginn Jr. would go on to balance his lifestyle as an amateur golfer with a hospitality industry career and his entrepreneurial venture, becoming a licensed stockbroker and opening a financial services firm in 2009. His success as a businessman and financial investing advisor is undeniable. Not only does Stewart’s firm have offices nationwide, but he also bought a New York Stock Exchange Membership interest for the NYSE floor and created both a structured product and a fixed-income trading desk.
A World Citizen
Since his youth, Stewart Ginn Jr. has visited and lived in many countries for years. Ginn spent some of his young adult life in Malaysia, where he perfected his golf game. Stewart enjoyed his time in Malaysia, where the landscape is breathtaking, the communities are friendly, and the cost of living is very affordable.
Being of a competitive spirit, Ginn plays chess and loves to match his wits against Mother Nature, surfing whenever he’s near a coastline. As an accomplished cook, Stewart enjoys experimenting with ethnic dishes that remind him of some of the many towns and provinces he has visited. He has a genuine affinity for all sports, especially soccer. But golf, which he first learned from his father, Stewart Taylor Paxton Ginn Sr., a celebrated Australian golfer, deeply stirs his passion for excellence.
An Accomplished Amateur Golfer
Before coming to the United States, Ginn’s golfing career was well underway, making the cut at both the Malaysian Open and the Singapore Rolex Masters in 1995.
During his college years, Stewart Ginn played for the South Carolina Gamecocks men’s golf team, competing in the NCAA’s Southeastern Conference in Division I. This league has seen some of the nation’s top golfers increase in rank. But, it is likely that Ginn would never foresee the path he would take among some of golf’s most outstanding athletes as he came to the U.S. via Malaysia.
When Stewart first came to America in 1995, he was hosted by Greg Norman and spent some time staying with the golf pro. This friendship would be instrumental in shaping Ginn’s vision of becoming a top-ranked golfer. He met Jack Nicklaus soon after and credits this golf legend with introducing him to his college golf coach, Puggy Blackmon. Blackmon is credited with having coached many collegiate All-Americans, including Stewart Cink and David Duval.
While both Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus significantly influenced Ginn, it was Blackmon who introduced Stewart to Jesus Christ. Since then, Stewart Ginn has been a Christian, and he went on to accomplish some amazing things in his college golfing career.
A Financial Investing Expert
After a short stint working in the hospitality industry, Stewart Taylor Paxton Ginn Jr. decided to pivot into a career in financial services. He studied hard, passed the Series 7 exam, and became a licensed broker in 2002. After gaining valuable experience working in partnership with a number of financial investment firms, Stewart created his own company, Paxton Financial, in 2009.
As CEO and Founder of Paxton Financial, Ginn has grown the company to have multiple locations in critical financial districts, including Denver, CO; Bethesda, MD; Encino, LA; Encinitas, CA; Delray, FL; Santa Maria, CA and its headquarters in Manhattan, NY. As a professional stockbroker, Ginn handled thousands of financial market transactions on behalf of his clients.
Ginn’s penchant for math and his ability to analyze financial markets and economic conditions accurately have made him a successful stockbroker. One who does extensive research into corporate finances to better evaluate each company’s investment opportunities for his clients. He has proven himself skilled at handling portfolios and works closely with his clients to understand their financial goals and risk limitations.
Since starting his brokerage firm, Ginn has been an Elite Advisor within his broker-dealer, Independent Financial Group, each year, a testament to his commitment to his clients and their wealth-building goals.
A Community Champion
Stewart Ginn Jr. has seen firsthand the needs of poor communities, especially immigrants looking to achieve the American dream. He has used his own success as a stockbroker and financial services provider to support those who are less fortunate. He purchased a church in one of the poorest sections of Chicago. Currently, the building is under reconstruction with the goal of it being converted into a school.
Ginn built the very first refugee school in North America to serve displaced immigrants whose children are typically in desperate need of continuing their education. Located at the City of God Church in Scorpion Canyon, Stewart believes it takes a community effort to support families seeking asylum in the United States, as they often wait many months to have their cases heard. Ginn’s path from his birth country to the U.S. has likely created a passion for helping those seeking a better life in another country.
When not helping to feed and house migrants, Stewart spends quality time with his wife and family, whom he feels are indeed a blessing from God. With a growing family, a robust business, and a commitment to helping immigrants as God directs him in prayer, Stewart hopes to rally more people to help ensure that America remains a symbol of hope for people from across the globe.
